Squires & Co at number 85 was the local electrical contrator who had a showroom selling radios etc. and also residential accommodation. Number 87 was, as can be seen a dwelling house.

Sadly these building were demolished to make way for the rather dull late 70s design row of shops with offices above, reducing yet again the number of dwelling houses on the High Street
