The Cater Museum

An Interesting Visitor

My most memorable visitor to the Cater Musuem arrived in the mid-1990s., having made a special trip from Germany to see the relics from Zepplin L32 deposited there.  He explained that his grandfather perished, along with the rest of the crew, when this airship was brought down near Billericay in September 1916.  At the time his wife, now a widow, was pregnant. Her baby, a girl, was born in due course and eventually became the mother of my visitor, hence his interest.
