4. Nos. 29 & 31 High Street

These two cottages were built in the 18th century and were originally weatherboarded but in 1955 they had changed to render.

These cottages were demolished in 1962 together with 23, 25 & 27 and replaced with a row of shops with flats above.

My Uncle Charles Cooke and his wife Alice lived for many years in one of these houses.
